Refunds & cancellations
Cancellation and refund conditions for Final Code LLC’s custom development services.
Effective:
Scope and project agreements
This policy concerns custom software and website projects provided by Final Code LLC. It describes general cancellation and refund rules, rather than leaving every decision to a case-by-case assessment. The project agreement identifies scope, prices, milestones, and how completed work is valued. Planning, design, or development is billable only when agreed with the client in advance. Initial inquiries or discussions offered free of charge will not later be charged or deducted from a refund. Any expressly agreed differences from these general rules must be provided before acceptance and comply with applicable law. Product purchases, including Alvoranza, are addressed separately below.
Cancellation requests
For cancellation, refund, or billing inquiries, contact hello@finalcodellc.com. Identify the project, the name or email used to contract, and any invoice or payment reference available. Tell us whether you want to cancel, request a refund, or report an issue. We will review the request and confirm the next steps and any applicable cancellation date in writing. Never send full payment-card details, passwords, or security codes by email.
Before billable work starts
If the client cancels before any agreed billable work starts, we refund payments received, deducting only third-party expenses that the client authorized in advance and that genuinely cannot be recovered. There is no automatic cancellation penalty or charge merely for reserving time under these general rules. An advance payment is not automatically nonrefundable.
Work in progress
If the client cancels after agreed billable work starts, we calculate the value of billable work actually performed using the prices or valuation criteria agreed for the project, plus authorized third-party expenses that cannot be recovered. We provide an itemized explanation and refund any payments exceeding those amounts. The same work or expense is not counted twice, and unperformed work is not charged merely because it was planned. If those amounts exceed payments received, any outstanding balance must be supported by the project agreement and the itemized explanation. Delivery of completed materials, access, and associated rights at closure follows the project agreement and applicable law.
Completed work and reported issues
A change of mind or a decision not to use work completed in accordance with the project agreement does not automatically entitle the client to a refund for that work. This does not prevent claims concerning errors, failure to meet the agreed scope, breach of contract, or rights provided by applicable law. Report an issue so that we can review it and address any correction, refund, or other remedy that is appropriate under the agreement and the law.
If Final Code LLC cannot continue
If we cannot continue a project, we notify the client and refund amounts corresponding to work not performed. We also discuss the status of completed work and the handover of materials or access under the project agreement. If the issue involves a breach by Final Code LLC, we do not treat it simply as a voluntary cancellation by the client: we also address any applicable corrective measures, refunds, or other remedies. These rules do not limit the client’s mandatory legal rights.
Third-party expenses and processing fees
Deductible third-party expenses must have been authorized by the client before being incurred, relate to the project, and genuinely be nonrecoverable. Examples may include a domain registration or a specifically purchased asset. We identify those expenses in the calculation and do not retain amounts recovered from the provider for the same expense. Final Code LLC absorbs ordinary payment-processing fees associated with payments and refunds; we do not deduct them from the client’s refund or add an automatic refund-processing charge.
Response and refund timing
We provide an initial response within 7 business days after receiving a request. This acknowledges or begins the review; it is not a promise that every request will be resolved within that period. If further information is needed, we explain what is required. Once a refund is approved, we initiate it within 15 business days after approval and notify the client. Business days mean Monday through Friday, excluding United States federal holidays. Refunds are normally returned through the original payment method where supported. If that method fails or cannot be used, we coordinate a secure alternative permitted by the payment provider. The time for funds to appear depends on the bank and payment method and is separate from our initiation period. Any shorter deadline required by law takes precedence.
Alvoranza purchases
Purchases through Alvoranza and other independent products require purchase-specific cancellation and refund conditions, which must be presented before purchase. This corporate policy does not establish refund rules for event cancellations, invitations, photo galleries, promotions, or extras purchased through Alvoranza, and does not override that product’s applicable terms or mandatory legal rights.
Unrecognized charges and disputes
If you do not recognize a charge, you can contact hello@finalcodellc.com with its date, amount, currency, and any invoice or transaction reference available, without sharing full card details or security codes. We will investigate and explain the next steps. Contacting us is not a prerequisite to contacting your bank or payment provider, and this policy does not waive dispute rights or extend their deadlines. If a bank dispute is already open, tell us so that we can coordinate its handling and avoid duplicate reimbursements.
Changes to this policy
The current version is available on this page with its effective date. The applicable version is identified in the project agreement and provided before acceptance. Later website updates do not, by themselves, change the cancellation or refund conditions of an existing project. Changes to those conditions require the parties’ agreement, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
The English version prevails if the translations differ, subject to applicable law.
